Goodbye Texas. It was short but sweet. And HOT! Thank you to the usual suspects and some new ones too. Thanks mom for everything especially watching all the kids while I was at the reunion and for hosting the next day. Adios amigos til we meet again. In Texas or DC.

The kids were devoured by a shark.

So the kids and I are official bird rescuers now. This bird (eagle? Hawk?) was in the middle of the road in Williamsburg. The cars were going around it but it was clearly hurt as it wasn't getting out of the street. The kids wanted to stop and help it so I stopped next to it. A woman on the other side stopped her car. I grabbed a towel and she grabbed the bird. She was from Williamsburg so she took him to the vet she knew. The kids have been talking all afternoon about how happy they are the bird is safe. Too bad we can't follow up to find out how she is but hopefully she's on the mend!
